Sheer Genius

Vera Wang's Fall 2012 collection was mesmerizing.

I especially liked this orange number.

I think working with sheer is always hard. I've often heard designers say in Project Runway "Why are the most beautiful materials the hardest to work with!", but if that's the truth it's quite impossible to see the difficulty here. Even if this type of material is quite free form and it's really hard to manipulate without destroying its softness, the whole thing just works flawlessly.

I also liked the way the pieces were draped and how she played with the soft and hard textures. Instead of overpowering the softness, it actually accentuated it. I particularly liked this nude dress with the vest.

And this beautiful long sleeved jacket.

Overall I think I'd like to see this translate well to something more ready to wear. I'm very excited to see how everyone will be inspired with this combo!
