Backing Black

Rugby fever has hit me.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that New Zealand is Rugby. It's a country born to play the game!

I must admit I've only gotten into the game a few months ago. Perhaps it was because New Zealand was the host country and everyone was so enthusiastic about it I just couldn't stop myself from actually getting into it. How can I, when I see all these little things flying about.

I've seen these mini flags everywhere. Seriously! For all the times I've gone out and walked down the street, glimpsing these would be a regular occurrence. Something inevitable you might even say!

The really cool thing is even houses would be sporting them. I may even dare say a house without a flag is not a house. No it's empty, void of New Zealand love.

But that's not why I really got into it. I think it was my competitive nature. Do you see those past winners? For the past six tournaments. Australia and South Africa have both won twice! TWICE! It's outrageous that we're behind them in number of wins. So we need to win! WE NEED TO!

So if it isn't obvious, on Sunday against the french, I'll be backing black! There's no other option. Monday will be a celebration, it has to be.

Go All Blacks!

BONUS: Here's a little clip from Snoop Dogg in support of the AB's (It's kinda funny, but still sort of cool).

UPDATE: Congratulations to the Wallabies for getting third, beating the Welsh 21-18. Great final try for the men in red, it was a great effort!

  1. I've been backing black since rugby world cup 2003 :). Watching every game since moving here to New Zealand. Watched The all blacks lose to the wallabies-semifinal game 2003. Then lost to france-quarterfinals game 2007. This year we have the best chance of winning!!! GO TO THE MIGHTY ALL BLACKS!!!
